The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the maximum temperature in the capital was 31.5 degrees Celsius and the day temperature is likely to remain at this level for the next three to four days.

The maximum temperature is increasing by 3-4 degree Celsius over Gujarat, Saurashtra, and Kutch western part of the country. The situation is particularly acute with the maximum temperature at many places being up to 8 degrees above normal.
