Ghaziabad, March 26 (IANS) A total of 15 candidates will contest the Lok Sabha polls from Ghaziabad constituency in Uttar Pradesh, officials said Wednesday on the last date of withdrawal of nominations.
Giving details of the election arrangements, District Magistrate S.V.S. Ranga Rao said names of candidates on the electronic voting machines (EVMs) have been put in alphabetical order in Hindi.
Candidates from national and state political parties will be named first, followed by candidates from registered political parties and finally candidates contesting as Independents, he said.
Raj Babbar of the Congress, Gen. (retd) V.K. Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Sudhan Rawat of the Samajwadi Party and Shazia Ilmi Malik from the Aam Aadmi Party are in the fray.
Ghaziabad constituency has 23,55,467 voters, of whom 13,69,733 are males and 10,52,174 are females.
