Operation Kaveri: The first batch of 360 Indians reached Delhi from Sudan, people raised slogans of Indian Army and PM Modi Zindabad

The first batch of 360 Indians evacuated from violence-hit Sudan under Operation Kaveri arrived in Delhi on Wednesday in an Air Force aircraft. These Indians have been brought home via Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). On reaching Delhi, these Indians raised slogans of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai', 'Indian Army Zindabad' and 'PM Narendra Modi Zindabad'.

 

According to ANI, Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan saw off these Indians at Jeddah airport. Earlier, two Air Force aircraft evacuated more than 250 Indians safely to Jeddah. On Tuesday, 278 civilians were brought to Jeddah by naval ship INS Sumedha.

 

In this way, under Operation Kaveri, about 530 Indians have been safely evacuated from Sudan. Indians evacuated from Sudan are being provided all necessary facilities at the center set up in Jeddah city. After INS Sumedha, the second and third batch of Indians were brought to Jeddah on Wednesday by Air Force aircraft C-130J.

 

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that 121 people were first airlifted to Jeddah by C-130J aircraft, followed by 135 people. On Wednesday, he tweeted that Operation Kaveri is going on at a fast pace. India has stepped up the process of evacuating its citizens after a 72-hour ceasefire between the fighting army and paramilitary forces in Sudan.

 

Let us tell you that more than 400 people have lost their lives in the conflict going on for 13 days in Sudan. An Indian is also included in these. When the conflict started, it was reported that more than three thousand Indians were stranded in Sudan.
