
The body of a corona victim was found last week at the Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital in Chennai. According to doctors, the body was lying on the eighth floor of the hospital for about 15 days. Police have told that the contract worker was working in the hospital for the last 3 years and he strangled the corona patient to death for money.
41-year-old Sunita was admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital on May 22 due to shortness of breath. According to the information, the postmortem report of the patient has also confirmed the murder and the accused woman worker has also confessed her crime. The accused told that he killed the victim for money and a mobile phone.
The police reached the accused Rati Devi after interrogating other people in the hospital. The mobile phone of the deceased has also been recovered from Rati Devi. Police were told by other staff members of the hospital that Rati Devi was the last time she was seen carrying Sunita in a wheelchair. Sunita was missing since May 23.
Further inquiry revealed that the accused Rati Devi is a widow, who lives with her 22-year-old son and a daughter. He also killed Sunita because she was in dire need of money. Rati Devi told the police that she saw Rs 500 note in Sunita's bag and decided to steal it. So she took Sunita in a wheelchair on the pretext of a scan. She took Sunita to the eighth floor in the emergency lift and then strangled her to death there.
