
Russia's corona vaccine Sputnik V will now be available in 9 more cities of the country. This information has been given on Thursday through the official Twitter handle of Sputnik. Dr. Reddy, the distribution partner of Sputnik V in the country, said on Wednesday that the Russian vaccine will be made available in nine other cities of the country. The names of these cities of India are- (Bengaluru), (Delhi), (Mumbai), (Chennai), (Kolkata), (Visakhapatnam), (Baddi), (Kolhapur), and (Miryalaguda).
According to the report so far, the Russian vaccine is the most effective in preventing corona infection, whose rate is considered to be 96.6 percent. As per the cost fixed by the Centre, it will be available for Rs 1,145 which includes hospital charges and taxes.
Initially, it was launched only in Hyderabad. Dr. Reddy said that right now people cannot register for the Russian vaccine on the Kovin portal and this facility will be available only when it is launched commercially. Dr. Reddy further said that the necessary preparations are in the final stages before the vaccine is launched on a large scale to ensure the availability of both doses of the vaccine.
Sputnik was launched in May in partnership with Apollo Hospitals and Dr. Reddy after receiving emergency use approval from the drug regulator in April. On May 15, the first dose of the vaccine was administered in Hyderabad. According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry today, a total of 26.53 crore vaccine doses have been given in the country so far.
