In June last year, India brought a proposal to the UN to declare Makki a global terrorist, but China blocked it. Because of this Makki could not be declared a global terrorist. India also reprimanded China for this. The US and India have already declared Makki a global terrorist.
Many types of restrictions will be imposed on maize
The UN has stated in this regard. The statement said that on January 16, 2023, UN committees declared Abdul Rehman Makki a global terrorist. After this, worldwide maize assets can be frozen. Apart from this, travel to Makki will also be banned.
Who is Abdul Rehman Makki?
Makki, the deputy chief of Jamaat-ud-Dawa and Lashkar-e-Taiba, is the brother-in-law of 26/11 terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed. It is said that he has an important role in funding Lashkar-e-Taiba. Makki has also been involved in the Mumbai bomb blasts.
