Here, in the last 24 hours, 18,578 new cases were reported in the country, which is the highest since February 19 this year. On February 19, 19,968 new infections were found. At the same time, on Wednesday, 13,736 people defeated Corona, while 35 patients died. New cases increased by 28% on Wednesday compared to Tuesday. On Tuesday, 14,506 new cases were reported.
Active cases crossed one lakh
Active cases in the country have crossed 1 lakh. At present, 1.02 lakh corona infected is undergoing treatment. Earlier, on February 27, for the last time, the number of active cases was more than 1 lakh. At that time 1,02,601 patients were undergoing treatment. After this, due to the continuous decline in the cases, the active cases decreased. The lowest active cases were 10,870 on 12 April.
More than 1,000 new cases in 6 states
Kerala and Maharashtra are at the forefront of new cases. Now West Bengal, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Delhi have also joined this list. More than 1 thousand new cases came into these states on Wednesday. In Karnataka alone, there was an increase of 101% in new cases in one day. After the arrival of new cases, the positivity rate in the country reached 98.56%.
Kerala has the highest number of new cases this year
Kerala is at the forefront of the epidemic. 4,459 infected were found here on Wednesday, which is the highest this year. Earlier on June 22, 4,224 new cases were found in Kerala. Kerala is also on the top in terms of death. On Wednesday, 15 patients died here. The positivity rate in the state is 17.62%. At the same time, because of the increasing cases, masks have been made mandatory in the state.
From the initial phase of Corona till now, the total cases in the state are more than 66 lakhs. At the same time, the number of patients recovering is more than 65 lakhs. While about 70 thousand infected have died. Here 27,991 patients are being treated.
The worrying situation in Maharashtra
After Kerala, the maximum number of cases are coming from Maharashtra. The situation has once again become worrying in the state. In the last 24 hours, 3,957 new cases were reported in Maharashtra, 3,696 patients were cured, and 7 infected people died. New cases in the state increased by 14% on Wednesday as compared to Tuesday. On Tuesday, 3,482 new cases were found here.
The positivity rate in the state remains at 8.71%. That is, out of 100 patients, about 9 patients are getting infected. So far more than 1 lakh 47 thousand infected have died in Maharashtra and 25,735 patients are currently undergoing treatment.
Huge jump in new cases in Karnataka
Karnataka is at number three after Kerala, Maharashtra, where the maximum number of cases came on Wednesday. In the last 24 hours, 1945 new cases were reported in the state, and 1,154 patients were cured. While 2 infected died. There was a 101% increase in new cases on Wednesday as compared to Tuesday. However, the positivity rate here is less than 5 i.e. 4.85%.
Cases increased again in Tamil Nadu-Bengal
Cases are increasing continuously in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal also for the last few days. Talking about Tamil Nadu, in the last 24 hours, 1,827 new cases were found, and 764 patients were discharged from the hospital. No patient died here. The positivity rate in the state remains at 7.05%.
Here, the cases of corona suddenly increased in West Bengal. On Wednesday, 1,424 new infections were found here, 496 patients were cured while two patients died. New cases in the state increased by 49% in the last hour. The new cases in Bengal may be fewer, but the positivity rate here is more than 12%.
Cases increased again in Delhi
Corona's up and down continues in Delhi. On Wednesday, 1109 patients were found here, 1245 infected were cured while 1 patient died. The positivity rate in the capital is 5.87% and currently, 4,325 infected people are undergoing treatment.
