Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) suffered their first defeat of IPL 2025. They lost the match by eight wickets to Gujarat Titans (GT) at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The batsmen of the RCB team had a flop performance, and failed to face the bowling of the Gujarat team.

In this match, the RCB team scored 169/8 in 20 overs. In response, the target was achieved in 17.5 overs thanks to Jos Buttler's 73 runs and Sai Sudarshan's 49 runs, Rutherford's unbeaten 30 runs. In this match, the RCB team's fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar achieved a big milestone as soon as he took a wicket. He equaled Dwayne Bravo's record.

Actually, the RCB team had put up a small score, after which the bowlers were expected to perform brilliantly, but thanks to Jos Buttler's 73 runs and Sai Sudarshan's 49 runs, Gujarat won the match. Bhuvneshwar Kumar performed well for RCB, giving away just 23 runs in 4 overs and taking the big wicket of Shubman Gill.

With this wicket, Bhuvneshwar Kumar registered his name in the record book in IPL. He became the joint-highest wicket-taker among fast bowlers in IPL. This record was earlier held by Dwayne Bravo, who took 183 wickets in 167 matches, while Bhuvi equaled Bravo in 178 matches.
