Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday chaired her pre-Budget consultation meeting with the first group of captains of industries and experts in the field of infrastructure and climate change in the national capital.
The pre-budget meeting was also attended by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman along with Union Ministers of State for Finance Pankaj Chowdhary and Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad. Apart from him, Finance Secretary TV Somanathan, Secretaries of other departments of the Finance Ministry, and Chief Economic Advisor Ananth Nageswaran were also present at the meeting. The formal exercise of preparing the annual budget for the next financial year began on 24 October 2023. The budget for 2023-24 is likely to be presented on February 1.
