
Three people have been arrested in connection with the clash between two groups during the procession of Lord Ganesha's idol in Karnataka. Along with this, a police inspector was also suspended for negligence in duty. The situation has returned to normal two days after the clash in Mandya district on Wednesday. Shops and vehicles were targeted in this clash, which created tension in the area. However, the situation in the city is calm at the moment. Additional police forces have been deployed in the area. Along with this, prohibitory orders prohibiting the gathering of more than four people in the area have also been implemented till September 14.
The situation under control in Mandya
With the arrest of these three people, 55 people have been arrested in this case so far. A team of experts from the Forensic Science Laboratory visited the spot on Thursday to collect evidence. Mandya Superintendent of Police Mallikarjuna Baladandi said, "The situation is peaceful at the moment and so far 52 people have been arrested in this case. We have arrested three more people in this case. We have also deployed additional police forces and have also imposed prohibitory orders."

A case has been registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including conspiracy to murder, obstructing public servants in the discharge of public functions, and destruction of public property. Some people, including two policemen, were also injured due to stone pelting in the area. The situation is under control at the moment. According to the police, an argument broke out between two groups during the procession of Lord Ganesha's idol. During this, some miscreants pelted stones, causing unrest in the area. After this clash between the two groups, some shops were vandalized. Some vehicles were set on fire on Wednesday night.
The police used force to control the situation and disperse the crowd. The group of youth taking out the procession protested near the police station demanding immediate arrest of those responsible for the violence.
