Today the number of deaths from corona in the country has crossed 1 lakh ... and this is not just a figure. These are the 100,000 breaths that Corona took away from us. A figure which the country does not want to see moving forward. Nevertheless, it is increasing and has been increasing continuously since the last 204 days.

On January 30, the first case of Corona came in the country by way of abroad. Since then, until May 31, the last day of the lockdown, i.e. 122 days, 1.82 lakh cases of corona were reported and 5,405 deaths occurred. The unlock was implemented from June 1 and 61.34 lakh new cases of corona were detected and 95 thousand deaths were added till the next 123 days i.e. today, October 2.

Statistics show that as long as there was a lockdown in the country, every day the case and death figures were somewhat under control. Negligence in unlocking increased. We did not consider the mask to be a vaccine until the vaccine arrived. There was no distancing, no contact tracing. With this, the death toll has crossed one lakh in the last 123 days. That is, deaths increased rapidly by 1800% after unlock.

When the lockdown ended, there were 193 deaths a day.

A public curfew was imposed on 22 March on the appeal of the Prime Minister because of the fast-growing case in different states. Just two days after this, i.e. on March 25, total lockdown was imposed in the country. The 68-day lockdown ended on May 31. If you look at the figures of 31 May, there were 8,380 positive cases across the country in 24 hours. The death toll in one day was 193. Now more than a thousand deaths are occurring every day from Corona.

On March 12, Corona was the first to die in the country. The total number of deaths in the country as of 31 March was 47. The highest increase in the number of deaths was seen in July, August, and September. The highest number of deaths was 34,565 in September. In one lakh deaths, their percentage was 34.5 percent.

Talking about the death toll in the states, Maharashtra alone accounts for the highest of 37 percent deaths. The figure of deaths out of one lakh here is 37,056. At the same time, Tamil Nadu (9.50%) and Karnataka (9%) are second and third in terms of deaths. In only these three states, the percentage of deaths from corona is 55.

Story of Corona reaching Kerala from China

Before talking about India, let's talk about the world. 31 December 2019. Coronavirus was first identified in China. The disease was then considered to be 'pneumonia due to unknown reasons' in Wuhan city. On 22 January 2020, the WHO mission in China said in a statement that there has been evidence of an outbreak of infection from one person to another in Wuhan.

The first patient of Korena in India was found in Kerala on 30 January. Usha Ram Manohar, an Indian student studying in Wuhan, came to Thrissur in Kerala to his home during the holidays. He was admitted to the district hospital after complaining of symptoms like sore throat and dry cough. Two other students who returned from Wuhan received symptoms of corona on 2 and 3 February.

On 4 February, the Indian government revoked the visas of foreign nationals with Chinese citizens in the country who had traveled to China about two weeks earlier. On 11 February the WHO officially named the transition Covid-19.
