Many big decisions have been taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Modi on Wednesday. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya told a press conference that the cabinet has taken a big decision in the interest of farmers. He said that the government would now bear the burden of increasing the market price on DAP fertilizers. Mandaviya said that due to the increase in the global price of DAP fertilizers, naturally, the market price has increased. The government has decided that the burden of the increased price should not fall on the farmers. Farmers will now get DAP only at the old market price and the subsidy given by the government will increase according to the market price.
Mandaviya said that the price of urea is fixed by the central government, which remains fixed and the subsidy keeps on increasing. At the same time, the market price of other fertilizers keeps on fluctuating and the subsidy remains fixed. Now the government has decided that farmers should also get DAP at the same price and the government should increase the amount of subsidy. Mandaviya told that if the price of DAP has gone up to Rs 2400, then the government will give a subsidy of Rs 1200. This will result in a loss of Rs 14,775 crore to the government. He said that for the first time such an increase has been made in the subsidy.
At the same time, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that a vision has been decided in the cabinet meeting, which is going to take India to a new era. He said that the cabinet has given its approval to the proposal of the 'Deep Ocean Mission' of the Ministry of Earth Sciences. He said, 70 percent of the earth is the ocean. The sea has a world of its own. India today decided that in the coming 5 years, it will work on a Deep Ocean mission so that the powers of the ocean can be harnessed. It will support the blue economy.
Javadekar said, 'There is a special type of suit. Wearing which the study of minerals is done by going 6000 meters down in the sea. India has a coastline of 7000 km, which is connected to 9 states. Now India will do a deep ocean study.
He further said, 'What are the consequences in the Deep Sea due to the breakdown of the glacier. This will also be studied. To date, the deep sea survey in India was not done from the point of view of minerals. In addition, an Advance Marine Station will also be established. Due to which the study of ocean biology will be done, which can be very beneficial for the industries. A thermal agency will be established in the sea. At present five countries of the world have this technology. Its technology is not openly available in the market, it has to be developed on its own. It is also an invention of self-reliant India in a way. This mission is going to take India to a new era in the world of research.
Union Minister Mandaviya told that the cabinet has taken another decision. The cabinet has permitted to move a bill related to the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways in Parliament. This bill will regulate the ships running in the river and the system will be improved.
