Pune, Jan 18 (IANS) Eminent cartoonist R.K. Laxman, who created "The Common Man", has suffered multiple organ failure and his condition was "critical" late Sunday, family sources said.
The 95-year-old Laxman, a current employee of The Times Of India, was admitted to a private nursing home here Friday due to some kidney and chest-related issues.
"Saturday, he was in ICU and this (Sunday) morning miraculously bounced back. Again his condition is a cause for concern," a family member, who did not want to be identified, told IANS.
A Magsaysay laureate, Laxman's cartoons have regaled generations since 1950s till a few years ago when he stopped drawing due to ill health.
