The holy festival of Chaitra Navratri starts on 9th April, in which we can liberate ourselves and our families from physical, divine, and material heat by worshiping the Supreme Brahma Shakti. According to Devi Bhagwat, it is Durga who creates, nurtures, and destroys the universe in the form of Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh. At the behest of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati took innumerable forms to kill the demons Raktabeej, Shumbh-Nishumbh, Madhu-Kaitabh, etc. but the nine main forms of the Goddess (Maa Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandmata, Katyayani, Kalratri, Mahagauri), Siddhidatri) is worshipped.
Each day of Navratri is dedicated to a specific form of Mother Goddess and by worshiping each form, different types of desires are fulfilled. It is believed in the scriptures that the Goddess comes to earth during these nine days and removes all the troubles of her devotees and grants them happiness, good fortune, knowledge, and longevity, hence Navratri is the best time to worship Goddess Bhagwati. During the nine days of Navratri, the one who controls these eleven – five senses of knowledge, five senses of action, and one mind – is the same Supreme Power that is omnipresent in the soul, the Supreme Soul, the Bhootakash, the Chittakaash, and the Chidakaash. If they are worshiped with devotion, then all four pursuits of religion, artha, kama, and moksha are attained.
Navratri worship ritual of Goddess Durga Maa
On the day of Navratri, clean the house in the morning and make Swastikas on both sides of the main door and for happiness and prosperity, place an arch of fresh mango and Ashoka leaves on the door. It is believed that during the worship of Mata, the vengeful powers also enter the house along with the Goddess, but due to the bandanwar installed on the main door, the vengeful powers remain outside the house.
On this day, after taking a bath in the morning, the idol or picture of Goddess Durga should be installed on a wooden post or seat after making a Swastika symbol. Place the idol of Shri Ganesha on the left side of the idol of Maa Durga. After that, sow barley in an earthen pot in front of Mother Goddess, barley is considered a symbol of prosperity and happiness. If you do not know any mantra at the time of worshiping the Mother Goddess, then you can only worship with the Navarna mantra given in Durga Saptashati 'Om Ain Hreem Kleem Chamundayai Vichche' and offer the worship material while reciting this mantra.
This mantra of Mata Shakti is infallible. If possible, make sure to offer makeup items and coconut flakes to the Goddess. Lighting a ghee lamp towards the southeast from your place of worship 'Om Deepo Jyotirah Parabrahma Deepo Jyotir Janardanah. Read this mantra 'Deepo Haratu Mein Papam Pooja Deep Namostute' and perform Aarti. By lighting a continuous lamp of pure desi ghee in the worship of Mother Goddess, positive energy flows in the house, negative energies are destroyed, diseases and troubles go away and happiness and prosperity come.
