For the first time in the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation elections, the Aam Aadmi Party has played its sting. The party has won 14 out of 35 seats. Whereas BJP has won 12 seats and Congress 8 seats. Shiromani Akali Dal has won one seat.

Punjab elections will be affected
According to political analysts, the effect of this election will be seen in the Punjab elections as well. Counting of votes began on Monday for the corporation elections being held on 35 wards. Since morning, the Aam Aadmi Party dominated the election results. First came the election results of Ward 13. AAP candidate Chandramukhi Sharma, who is considered a strong contender for the seat, was defeated by Sachin Galav of Congress. After this, AAP captured one seat after the other, increasing the beats of the candidates of BJP and Congress.
Even the mayor could not save the seat
While two former mayors Devesh Moudgil and Rajesh Kalia lost, AAP candidate Badal defeated the incumbent Mayor Ravikant Sharma. BJP state president Vijay Rana and Congress state president Subhash Chawla's son Sumit Chawla lost the election. Apart from this, BJP's strong contender for victory, Heera Negi, Sunita Dhawan lost the election, while Congress candidate Satish Kainth could not even save his seat.
