
Shimla, March 9 (IANS) The Indian Institute of Advanced Study and Himachal Pradesh University will jointly host a three-day convention on automation of libraries here from March 12.
The convention will see over 300 information science experts, librarians and professionals.
The convention titled CALIBER (Convention on Automation of Libraries in Education and Research Institutions), is an international convention organised every alternate year by the Information and Library Network Centre in Gandhinagar in Gujarat.
Building on the success of previous conventions, the 10th international CALIBER will explore issues on 'Innovative Librarianship -- Adapting to Digital Realities' and various other relevant sub-themes, an official statement said.
The three-day convention would start with tutorials on measuring research performance of Indian universities and on plagiarism in research which will be delivered by experts from the US and Singapore.
S.V. Raghavan, scientific secretary in the office of the principal scientific adviser to the government of India, will be the chief guest.
