The central government has so far provided more than 22.46 crore vaccine supplements to states and union territories through free channels and direct state procurement.
Explain that last week, Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan had said that by the end of 2021, India would be in a position to have at least all its adult population vaccinated. He further assured that at present the health facilities of the country are being rapidly improved that the next mutant of the coronavirus may come back. During a Corona review meeting on 21 May, the Union Minister had stated that between August and December 2021, India would purchase 216 million vaccine supplements. While 51 crore doses will be procured by July this year.
