The tussle between Delhi's Arvind Kejriwal government and Lieutenant Governor Vinay Saxena continues on different matters. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held a meeting with LG Vinay Saxena for about an hour. This meeting between the CM and the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi took place at the LG Secretariat. After this, CM Kejriwal said in a press conference, "LG's interference in Delhi's work is increasing. Delhi's work is not being done."

CM Arvind Kejriwal further said, "We want that we can work together by removing mutual differences. With this intention, I met LG today. I took many legal orders and the constitution book to him. I went to the court today." I am placing the judgment in front of you, which I have also placed before the LG. The LG has no right to take an independent decision."

Sealing Jasmine Shah's office wrong: CM Kejriwal

He said, "The Supreme Court itself is saying this. I told them that it simply means that the 10 nominated councilors selected by the LG were wrong. It is wrong to stop teachers from going abroad for training. Jasmine Shah's office Sealing is also wrong and sending a recovery notice of 164 crores to our party is also wrong. On this LG said that 'I am an administrator and I can do anything'. He said that what you are showing can only be a suggestion of the Supreme Court. LG said that these rules do not apply to me.

Know what LG said to CM?

The Delhi CM said, "I told him about the Constitution. I also told the High Court's judgment to the LG, but he kept saying again and again that I am an administrator and I can do all this." Let us tell you that in this meeting, Arvind Kejriwal brought with him the order copy of the Constitution, GNCTD Act, TBR, Education Act, Motor Vehicles Act, and Constitution Bench.

There is a tussle between LG and Kejriwal government regarding powers

Earlier, sources had said that the Chief Minister will carry copies of the Constitution and other laws for his meeting with the LG at Raj Niwas, in which the two are likely to have a serious discussion on their powers and jurisdiction in Delhi. There has been a tussle between the two sides for a long time.

LG had invited CM to the meeting

Referring to a newspaper article on the role of governors, CM Kejriwal on Friday morning said, “Let the elected governments work. Preventing elected governments from doing their jobs for petty partisan gains is bad for the people, democracy, and the Constitution." Lieutenant Governor Saxena, through a letter on January 9, invited Kejriwal for a meeting to discuss the provisions of the administration in Delhi.

LG gave this suggestion to CM Kejriwal

He also suggested that the chief minister hold regular meetings with the residents of the national capital for "contradiction-free" governance in the interest of the national capital. The Lt Governor had also said that the Chief Minister used to meet him regularly till October 2022, but later expressed his inability to do so due to his preoccupation with the Delhi Municipal Corporation elections and elections to various states. The Lieutenant Governor's office and the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi have been at loggerheads several times on various issues.

Dispute between LG and Kejriwal government regarding teacher training

CM Kejriwal, in his recent letters to LG Vinay Saxena, questioned the nomination of the presiding officer and alderman of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, as well as members of the Haj Committee, asking whether the LG was elected as an "administrator" in Delhi. Ignore the government. Significantly, there is a contradiction between the Kejriwal government and the Lieutenant Governor in Delhi on many issues. On Thursday itself, Lieutenant Governor Vinay Saxena also banned Delhi government teachers from going to Finland for training. Regarding this too, the tussle between the Delhi government and the LG had further increased.
