New Delhi, Jan 18 (IANS) Wishing "glorious future" to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Sunday, President Pranab Mukherjee said its personnel displayed "a high degree of competence and valour" while responding to emergency situation across India.
On Monday, the NDRF will celebrate its 10th raising day. In a message, the president said the NDRF is a specialised disaster response force which has proven its worth by rescuing thousands of people in several parts of the country.
"NDRF personnel displayed a high degree of competence and valour in responding to the floods in Jammu and Kashmir, and Assam as well as during the cyclonic storm Hudhud in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. The timely response provided by the skilled and motivated rescuers of NDRF have saved many lives in the country," a release quoted him as saying.
"I am confident that the NDRF will continue to serve the nation with equal diligence in the years to come," the president said.
