Gambhir said, “I remember.” Whenever I was not performing well in my career, people would say that you are from a good family. You don't need to play cricket. You have many options. You join your father's business.
He also said, “This was the biggest thought hanging over my head. People don't realize that I wanted this more than them. I wanted to defeat the thought. When I could do this, I was not troubled by any other thought. The idea behind beating the toughest estimate in my life was that I didn't want to make it hard for myself but made it difficult for other people.
