The High Court said, “Religious clothes like the hijab or saffron shawls shall not be worn in school-college premises till the disposal of the judgment. We'll stop everyone. Because we want peace in the state. The High Court is hearing petitions on behalf of Muslim girl students challenging the hijab ban in colleges.

During the hearing of the case, the State High Court has said that at present they are also considering another issue whether wearing a headscarf comes under Fundamental Rights. The court said that they are also considering whether wearing a headscarf is an essential part of religious tradition.
