
Kolkata, Feb 17 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday received praise from the speaker of Britain's House of Lords for his agenda on women empowerment.
Addressing a session entitled "Striving for gender equality in politics", Baroness D'Souza exuded confidence that Modi's efforts on empowering women would yield tangible results shortly.
"I know your Prime Minister Modi is extremely interested in empowering women for very very good reasons. It is good for Mr Modi, wonderful. We are extremely supportive of his agenda on women empowerment," she said.
"It probably will show very tangible results in a very short time," she added.
