Patna, Jan 12 (IANS) Jitan Ram Manjhi Monday said he will continue to be chief minister of Bihar.
On being told by the media at his weekly 'janata durbar' that some Janata Dal-United leaders wanted to oust him, Manjhi said he will continue to be the chief minister "for now".
He said former chief minister and senior JD-U leader Nitish Kumar was the best candidate but the next chief minister should be a Dalit.
"Nitish Kumar is the best option... but the next chief minister should be a Dalit," Manjhi said in Hindi.
He said Dalits in Bihar have become united after he became chief minister.
"Dalits are now supporting the JD-U and it would help the party in the next assembly polls," he said.
