Jammu goes to polls

Jammu, April 10 (IANS) Jammu, the only Lok Sabha constituency in Jammu and Kashmir which has both the international border and the Line of Control, Thursday began voting in the national election, officials said.

Around 7,000 polling staff, 150 companies of central security forces and 5,000 police personnel are on duty for Thursday's voting.

Around 1.7 million voters will elect their Lok Sabha member from 2,271 polling stations in the four districts of Jammu, Samba, Poonch and Rajouri.
