There is no complete ban on firecrackers
The Supreme Court in its order once again made it clear that there is no complete ban on firecrackers, only those which are injurious to health, especially those affecting children and the elderly, are banned. The court said that there can be no celebration at the cost of the health of others.
The order of the Supreme Court has made it clear that only green crackers or low-pollution crackers can be sold on Diwali. The Supreme Court has also upheld the earlier orders regarding firecrackers. That is, crackers can be burst only from 8 am to 10 pm on Diwali evening. Apart from this, crackers can be burst on Christmas and New Year from 11.55 to 12.30.
Can't play with life under the guise of celebration
The Supreme Court had said that it is not against any particular group or community. The top court said it cannot allow violation of rights of citizens under the garb of celebration. A bench of Justices MR Shah and AS Bopanna made it clear that it wanted full implementation of its orders. You (producers) cannot play with the lives of citizens under the guise of celebration. We are not against any particular community. The bench said that we want to send a strong message that we are here to protect the fundamental rights of citizens.
