Trade has high hopes from this film as well and it is being speculated that this film will create some effect at the box office as RRR is doing at the moment.

The trailer of the film was released in Bangalore on Sunday. Considering the importance of the film in the Hindi belt, the trailer launch event of the film was hosted by Karan Johar. The trailer was also a huge hit and made a record 109 million views across all languages within 24 hours. At the trailer launch event, director Prashanth Neel told that Yash himself has written a large part of the dialogues of the film's main character Rocky Bhai, hence Yash has a different style and influence in the delivery of these dialogues in the trailer.

KGF 2 is a period film, whose story is set in the 70-80 era. In KGF 2, Sanjay Dutt plays the dreaded villain Adheera, whose clash with Rocky Bhai is the highlight of the film. Raveena Tandon is also going to be seen as a very strong character. KGF 2's prequel Chapter 1 was a huge success at the box office. The Hindi version of this film was also well-liked. KGF Chapter 1 is currently available on Prime Video.

The film is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films and its Hindi version is being released by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's company. After the success of Pushpa and RRR, now the eyes of the trade are on KGF 2. However, on April 14, at the box office opposite KGF 2 will be Shahid Kapoor's Jersy, which is a remake of the Telugu film itself.
