Bengaluru Stampede: Siddaramaiah, Shivkumar's troubles may increase, demand for FIR against KCA and stadium CEO too

Social activist Snehmayi Krishna has demanded an FIR against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, and officials of the Karnataka State Cricket Board. She has complained to the Cubbon Park police station to register a case under Section 106 of the Indian Penal Code against the responsible persons for negligence. Aam Aadmi Party Karnataka youth state president Lohit Hanumanapura has also complained to the police, demanding an FIR against the Karnataka State Cricket Association and the CEO of the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in connection with the stampede incident.

A round of allegations and counter-allegations has started in the case. On the one hand, the BJP has targeted the Congress government and accused it of negligence, while on the other hand, ministers in the Congress government and its leaders are calling the event an event of the state cricket board.

Meanwhile, on the stampede, Congress leader Pramod Tiwari said, 'This is a very painful and sad incident. I pay tribute to the dead and wish for the speedy recovery of the injured. The Karnataka government has also given compensation. This program was of the Karnataka Cricket Control Board. As far as I know, a foreign company has a major stake in RCB. They have earned more than Rs 400 crore. If they give this money (Rs 2 crore each) to the 11 deceased, it will be Rs 22 crore. They can give Rs 25-50 lakh to the injured. More can be given to the disabled. I want a proper investigation so that such an incident does not happen again.'

What is the matter?

Earlier, there was a celebration in Bangalore yesterday for Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) first IPL championship win in 18 years. After winning the title, the team reached Bangalore on Wednesday for the felicitation ceremony. The red carpet was laid for them. Cricket lovers had reached the Chinnaswamy Stadium in lakhs to get a glimpse of their heroes. However, due to last-minute changes and underestimation of cricket fans, the celebration turned horrific, in which at least 11 people died. More than 30 people were injured in this.
