Noida, March 17 (IANS) Zee and Essel Group chairman Subhash Chandra has asked students to live and work towards a purpose since that adds more real meaning to one's life than dreams.
"The purpose of your life and the dream of your life are two different things. They shouldn't be mixed. Learning things with a purpose in life is far better than learning without a purpose," Chandra said.
"There would have been no misery and discontent in the world if acquiring and enjoying wealth was the only purpose of humans," he told the students of Amity University here in a talk that will be featured in the next "Dr. Subhash Chandra Show" on Zee channels.
Chandra's self-made group has interests in a host of areas ranging from trading and packaging to theme parks and multiplexes. He also carved one of India's largest TV media groups besides launching an English language newspaper.
During his talk, Chandra also spoke about what one could and must do with one's life without further delays. "Don't wait for the final 24 hours of your life. Prepare your bucket list today and start working on it," he said.
"I urge you to accept the realities of your life and not run away from your fears. The moment you do that, you will be successful and happy. Living life is an art and the technique comes to us naturally and gradually."
