Major accident in Jammu and Kashmir: Part of a tunnel under construction in Ramban collapsed, 13 laborers trapped, 3 rescued; Rescue underway

Part of an under-construction tunnel on the national highway between Ramban and Ramsu in Jammu and Kashmir collapsed. Due to this 13 laborers working there got trapped in the debris. 3 laborers have been rescued. At the same time, the Jammu and Kashmir Disaster Management Authority says that 10 laborers are still trapped in the debris. The deputy commissioner of Ramban said that the rescue operation is still on.

 

The accident took place at around 10 pm on Thursday at Khooni Nala near the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in the Makerkot area of ​​Ramban district, where the tunnel is being built. According to the information, soon after the tunnel collapsed, a joint rescue operation was launched by the police and the army. In this accident, many machines including vehicles, bulldozers, and trucks standing in front of the tunnel have also been damaged.

 

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh has expressed grief by tweeting. He wrote, 'I am in constant touch with DC Musrat Islam. Around 10 laborers are buried under the rubble, another 2 have been admitted to the hospital. Rescue work is going on in full swing. Civil administration and police officials are monitoring the situation.

 

These workers are still missing

 

Among the missing laborers, 5 are residents of West Bengal, two from Nepal, one from Assam, and two from Jammu and Kashmir. These include Jadav Roy (23), Gautam Roy (22), Sudhir Roy (31), Deepak Roy (33), Parimal Roy (38) resident of West Bengal, Nawaz Chaudhary (26), Kushi Ram (25) resident, Shiv Chauhan ( 26) residents of Assam, Muzaffar (38), Israt (30) residents of Jammu and Kashmir are included.

 

At the same time, the injured laborers include Vishnu Gola (33) resident of Jharkhand, and Amin (26) resident of Jammu and Kashmir. DC Ramban, Project Director of NHAI, DIG and SSP Ramban are present on the spot.
