On January 9, a major accident kept happening at the Bangalore airport. Here two Indigo Airlines planes narrowly escaped after colliding in the air. This situation had arisen soon after the planes took off on the morning of January 9. Senior officials of aviation regulator DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) gave this information on Wednesday. Officials said the incident was not recorded in any logbook nor was it reported to the Airport Authority of India (AAI).
According to a report by news agency PTI, DGCA chief Arun Kumar has said that the regulator is probing the matter and strict action will be taken against those found guilty. At the same time, no statement has come out from IndiGo and AAI in this regard yet. DCGA officials said a collision occurred between two IndiGo flights, 6E455 (Bengaluru to Kolkata) and 6E246 (Bengaluru to Bhubaneshwar), at Bengaluru airport.
Both these planes took off from Bangalore airport on the morning of January 9 at an interval of about five minutes. An official said that both the planes were moving towards each other after taking off. But in time the approach radar controller gave a diverging heading and both the planes avoided colliding in the air. Officials say that an investigation has been started to find out the reason behind the incident. Strict action will be taken against those who are found guilty in the case as per rules.
