Nagpur, March 17 (IANS) Seeking to clear the air concerning his remarks on Narendra Modi, yoga guru Baba Ramdev Monday denied reports he had said the Gujarat chief minister was "in a hurry" to be prime minister but had stated there was no alternative to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader in the present circumstances.
Ramdev said his remarks concerning the BJP's choice of candidates had been distorted by sections of the media.
"Media should not give wrong news to create a sensation. ... The situation through which the country is passing, there is no alternative to Modi," he told a TV channel.
Ramdev had earlier expressed reservations over some of the tickets given by the party. He had said it would have been better if BJP had given ticket only to people with clean records and not on the basis of dynasty.
