OP Chautala: Chautala wanted to form a third front in national politics, and due to this reason this dream remained unfulfilled

INLD supremo Om Prakash Chautala wanted to form a third front in national politics. Chautala, along with his turbaned brother former Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal, and close friends Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah, and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, ran a long campaign to bring regional parties on one platform.

Chautala's dream could not be fulfilled.

Chautala's dream of forming a third front to compete with BJP and Congress could not be fulfilled. After going to jail in the teacher recruitment scam, he put the responsibility of the third front on his younger son and INLD's principal general secretary Abhay Singh Chautala, who was constantly trying to bring regional parties on one platform.

During this time, Om Prakash Chautala was also constantly in touch with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, big warrior of social justice Sharad Yadav and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati.

INLD fought the last election with BSP

INLD fought the last Lok Sabha and Assembly elections together with BSP, but the third front could not be formed at the national level. Chautala wanted Nitish Kumar to lead the third front, but he changed sides. The talk of a third front has been coming up in Indian politics for a long time.

Adopted the mantra of 'Lokraj runs on public shame'

The mantra given by former Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhary Devi Lal, 'Lokraj runs on public shame', was adopted by OP Chautala very well. It was Om Prakash Chautala who showed the courage to adopt the value-added tax (VAT) system. Like his father, Chautala helped many such people reach the heights of politics, who had never even dreamt of doing so.

Made the village famous at the national level by adding Chautala to the name

Tau Devi Lal's elder son brought fame to his village at the national level by adding Chautala to his name. Chaudhary Om Prakash was the first person in the family, who added the name of the village Chautala to his name. After this, everyone in the family, starting from his younger brother Ranjit Singh, started adding Chautala to their names. This gave Chautala village a new identity in political circles.
