Pakistan defeated South Africa by nine wickets with 41 balls to spare in the second T20 International on Friday. This leveled the three-match T20 International series 1-1. The third and final T20 International between the two teams will be played on Saturday.

In the second match played in Lahore, South Africa batted first and were all out for 110 runs in 19.2 overs. In reply, Pakistan achieved the target in 13.1 overs for the loss of one wicket. Salman Nazir, Faheem Ashraf, and Sam Ayyub starred in Pakistan's victory.

It's worth noting that Pakistan suffered a 55-run defeat in the first T20 International. Following this, Pakistan, led by Salman Agha, made a strong comeback and leveled the series.

Sam Ayyub's Stormy Half-Century

Chasing a target of 111, Pakistan got off to a flying start with a 54-run partnership between Sahibzada Farhan (28) and Sam Ayyub (71*). Corbin Bosch provided South Africa's only breakthrough by bowling Farhan. Farhan scored 28 runs off 23 balls, hitting three sixes.

Sam Ayyub played an explosive innings from one end, leading Pakistan to an easy victory. Babar Azam (11*) supported Ayyub. Sam scored an unbeaten 71 off just 38 balls, hitting six fours and five sixes. Babar Azam remained unbeaten on 11 off 18 balls, hitting one four.

South Africa's Surrender

Recall that Pakistan captain Salman Agha won the toss and elected to field first, a decision his bowlers fully justified. Salman Mirza clean bowled Reeza Hendricks with the second ball of the innings. The Proteas batsmen didn't get a chance to settle in.

The visitors lost five wickets for 49 runs. Dewald Brevis (25) was the team's top scorer. Other batsmen failed to stay at the crease for long. For Pakistan, Salman Mirza took three wickets for 14 runs in four overs. Faheem Ashraf took four wickets. Naseem Shah took two wickets. Abrar Ahmed took one wicket.
