The Rajasthan government has launched a bridge course for the school students of the state to compensate for the loss of studies during the Corona period. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot launched the program 'Rajasthan Ke Shiksha Mein Badhte Kadam' virtually from the Chief Minister's residence on Monday.
CM Gehlot said that to meet the learning loss caused due to Corona epidemic, the remediation program 'Rajasthan Ke Shiksha Mein Badhi Kadam' is being started for the students of classes I to VIII in the education session 2022-23. In the bridge course organized under this, students will be made to study through an efficiency-based, easy, and enjoyable method of teaching. He also inaugurated the 'Field Orientation' program for teachers, education officers, parents, and children.
Gehlot said that today Rajasthan is making a mark as a model state in the country due to the wonderful innovations made in the field of education. Mahatma Gandhi's vision of setting up English medium schools and skill-based teaching is becoming an example for other states. In the last few years, not only the education infrastructure has developed in Rajasthan but academic progress has also taken place.
Announcement of financial provision of 75 crores in the budget
Despite the suspension of teaching due to Kovid, continuous efforts have been made to ensure that our students do not lose their studies. In the same sequence, to compensate for the loss of education of the youngsters due to Kovid, in the budget of the year 2022-23, a bridge program was announced with a financial provision of 75 crores.
Emphasis on learning instead of cramming in bridge course, the assessment will be done thrice a year
Under the program 'Rajasthan Ke Shiksha Mein Badhte Kadam', the emphasis will be on learning instead of rote learning in bridge courses. In the bridge course, for classes, one to eight, four periods in the first three months and two periods in the rest of the entire session will be fixed.
Under the scheme, skill-based workbooks will be prepared for more than 75 lakh students and skill assessments will be done thrice a year. Under this program, skill-based holistic report cards of students will be prepared along with regular teacher-parent meetings.
The TeachingAid app will be available
To effectively implement this program, programs for capacity building of teachers will be conducted and the facility of Teaching Aid App will also be made available for all the teachers from classes three to eight. Gehlot said that the education of young children has been affected the most during the Corona period.
Despite the digital innovations made by the government to continue education, children from far-flung areas were not able to connect with education. The main objective of the bridge course is to bring the educational level of these children in line with the current class. This will not hurt them in the future. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also released the poster and logo of the 'Rajasthan Ke Badti Kadam' program.
