In the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, R. Ashwin took 12 wickets. Along with this, Ashwin also completed his 100 wickets in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC). Ashwin has become the first bowler in the world to achieve this feat. Ashwin completed 100 wickets in both the WTC seasons combined. Along with taking the fourth wicket in the second Test, R. Ashwin reached number 8 in the world among the highest wicket-takers in Test cricket. He left behind South African fast bowler Dale Steyn. Steyn took 439 wickets before retirement and Ashwin now has 442 wickets.

Rishabh Pant created history

Rishabh Pant has become the first Indian wicketkeeper to receive the Man of the Series award in Test cricket. Apart from scoring 185 runs in the series, he took 5 catches and 3 stumpings as a wicketkeeper. Former Indian captain MS Dhoni played 94 Tests, but he could not win the Player of the Series award even once.

At the same time, Pant has also become only the third wicketkeeper in the world to receive the Player of the Series award in Test cricket at the age of 24. Before Rishabh, England's Allan Nott and Pakistan's Moin Khan have done this feat.

Rohit Sharma's 14th consecutive win

The victory in Bangalore was the team's 14th consecutive win after Indian captain Rohit Sharma became the full-time captain. India has won all the matches. At the same time, as captain, Rohit did a clean sweep against a team for the fifth time in a row.

Rohit Sharma became the 5th captain of India to win the first two Test matches in a row. Before him, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, and Ajinkya Rahane have done so as captains.

Some other records made in the match

India won the 15th consecutive series at home grounds.

This was India's 25th Test victory at the Bangalore ground.

India made a clean sweep in Test cricket for the third time against Sri Lanka. Earlier in 1993/94 and 2017 India had done this feat.
