Retirement age for UP Government Doctors Raised to 65

Lucknow, Feb 4 (IANS) The Uttar Pradesh government Wednesday announced that the retirement age of government doctors in the state will be 65 years. The present age of retirement for government doctors in UP is 62 years.

The proposal was approved at a cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

The cabinet also gave the green signal to the appointment of 1300 'kanungo' and giving the benefits of the sixth pay commission to the Yuva Kalyan Parishad employees.

The state cabinet also approved medical university status for the Saifai PGI in the village of chief minister Akhilesh Yadav.

It was also decided that a Food Security Commission will be constituted in the state.
