Russia-Ukraine War Updates: Putin may declare war on Ukraine, Zelensky's taunt - Forgot the lesson of Second World War

Posted on 4th May 2022 02:12 pm by rohit kumar

It has been more than two months since the Russia-Ukraine war. However, Russia has so far been calling it a special operation. US officials believe that now Russia can formally declare war on Ukraine on 9 May.

Russia celebrates May 9 every year as Victory Day. It was on this day in 1945 that Russia defeated Hitler's Nazi army during the Second World War. Russian President Vladimir Putin may declare war on this day to achieve a military breakthrough in Ukraine.

Zelensky takes a dig at the Russian Foreign Minister

On the other hand, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has taken a jibe at the Russian Foreign Minister, saying that he has forgotten all the lessons of the Second World War. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov compared Zelensky to German dictator Adolf Hitler in the past.

Lavrov said that Hitler and Zelensky were both Nazis and had Jewish blood. Israel had also expressed displeasure over this statement. The Israeli foreign minister called the statement a "disgraceful and historical mistake".

Major Updates of the Russia-Ukraine War

Pope Francis has made a big statement. He said that the war would end on May 9. Putin has made a plan to end the war.

Britain's prime minister has promised to send military aid of $375 million to Ukraine.

Britain will send electronic warfare equipment and a counter-battery radar system to Ukraine.

With the support of the UN and the Red Cross, the process of evacuating the people trapped in Mariupol will continue even today.

Russian attack so far kills 3,153 Ukrainian civilians

According to a UN report, 3,153 Ukrainian civilians have been killed and 3,316 have been injured since February 24 as a result of the Russian attack. At the same time, a 14-year-old boy was killed, while a 17-year-old girl was injured in a Russian missile attack on Odessa.

Denmark and Sweden will shift their embassy to Kyiv

Denmark and Sweden will soon shift their embassies in Ukraine to the capital Kyiv. The Swedish Embassy is planning to return only by next Wednesday. At the same time, the US Embassy can also return to Kyiv by the end of May. Many countries closed their embassies in Kyiv because of the Russian attack.

Hungary already knew Russia's plan

Hungary was already aware of the Russian attack on Ukraine. Ukrainian Defense Council secretary Oleksiy Danilov says Putin told Hungarian officials about the attack plan. Germany, on the other hand, has decided to support the European Union's sanctions against Russian oil imports.
