Sri Lanka is grappling with a historic economic crisis. From food items to fuel, the prices of everything have increased wildly and now even getting them is becoming difficult. The wheels of the vehicles have stopped due to a lack of fuel. In such a situation, people are selecting bicycles as an option to maintain the pace of life.

 

The song \'Jeevan Chalne Ka Naam, Chalte Raho Subah-Sham\' is a popular song for all ages, but it is fitting for Sri Lankans who are struggling with financial difficulties. Bicycle is now becoming their first choice for everyday work. Inflation and scarcity have compelled them to do so. Common and special people are making bicycles support for essential work.

Petrol is not available even after waiting in queue for hours

 

People say that they cannot wait in queue for hours for petrol. Petrol and diesel are not available even after waiting in queues. In such a situation, a customer of the capital Colombo said, many people have started commuting by cycle and public vehicles. The demand for bicycles in the country is also increasing continuously.

 

Tomatoes 1000 rupees and potatoes 800 rupees

 

The people of Sri Lanka have become obsessed with grain. The situation has become such that tomatoes are being sold at Rs 1000 per kg and potatoes at Rs 800 per kg. People are getting neither gas nor electricity. People are compelled to cook food on the wood stove. The people of Colombo say that this situation has happened due to the wrong decisions of the Sri Lankan government under the influence of China.

 

People in the mood to cross, camp in President and PM residence

 

Protests against protesters continue in Sri Lanka. This time all the protesters are seen in a cross-sectional mood and are camping in the houses of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Prime Minister. All of them say that till our demands are not accepted, we are not going to move from here. In fact, due to public anger in Sri Lanka, the Gotabaya government has collapsed and the army is handling the situation like this. The country does not have the money to import essential goods. Foreign exchange reserves have dried up.

On Monday, it was unanimously decided to nominate Sajith Premadasa for the post of interim President. At the same time, the new President will be elected in the Parliament of Sri Lanka on 20 July. Sri Lanka\'s parliament will elect a new president on 20 July. Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeverdane gave this information on Monday.

 

President\'s brother prevented him from escaping

 

On the other hand, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa\'s younger brother Basil Rajapaksa wanted to abscond abroad due to the fear of the protesters, but the airport staff strongly opposed it, due to which he had to return on the back foot. According to media reports, as soon as Basil Rajapaksa arrived at Colombo International Airport, the immigration staff and union of the airport stopped work last night and started protesting against him. The employees also raised slogans. Basil Rajapaksa wanted to go out of Sri Lanka using the Silk Route.
