'There is no shortage of vaccine in Maharashtra', the Health Ministry rubbished the claims of lack of vaccine

Vaccination In Maharashtra: The Union Health Ministry has issued a clarification regarding the shortage of vaccines in Maharashtra. The ministry has termed any such report as false. Earlier it was reported that due to a lack of vaccines, the Maharashtra government is unable to increase the pace of vaccination. After the matter came to light, the Union Health Ministry had made it clear that according to the data available today i.e. on January 14, more than 24 lakh doses of Covaxin are available in Maharashtra.

 

The Health Ministry also informed that an additional 6.35 lakh doses have been sent to Maharashtra today. Regarding the dosage of vaccine, the ministry has also clarified that according to their weekly consumption data available on Covin, the average consumption by 15-17 age group and precaution dosage Maharashtra is around 2.94 lakh doses per day. According to the ministry, the state has enough vaccine doses for about 10 days to cover the vaccine beneficiaries with Covaxin.

 

According to the information given by the ministry, so far 1.24 crore doses are available with the state of Kovishield vaccine. The state has an average consumption of 3.57 lakh doses of this vaccine per day, so the government has a stock of the Covishield vaccine for more than 30 days for vaccination.

 

Let us inform you that Maharashtra is the most corona-affected state in the country. There is a record increase in cases of infection every day. At the same time, according to the information given by the Health Department, 46 thousand 406 new cases of corona infection were registered in the state on Thursday, although these are 317 less than the day before. At the same time, 36 people have also died during this period.
