The Russia-Ukraine war has been going on for the last 35 days. During this several rounds of talks have taken place between the two countries. Meanwhile, because of India's deep ties with Russia, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba has sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi to mediate.
Demand for mediation from PM Modi
This was stated by Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba during a conversation with NDTV. "If Prime Minister Modi is willing to play a role as a mediator between President Zelinsky and President Putin, we will welcome his efforts," he said.
Apart from this, he said- Ukraine has always been a reliable consumer of India. We have always been one of the guarantors of Indian food security. We supply many products. It is a mutually beneficial relationship.
India to take advantage of relations with Russia
Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleba said- We request you to take advantage of India's relations with Russia and persuade President Putin to stop the war. President Putin is the only person making decisions in Russia. So you need to talk to them directly about how to end this war.
Putin wants war
He said – there is only one person in the world who wants this war, that is Putin. If Prime Minister Narendra Modi can convince Putin to stop this war, why should we be against him? I hope India will support Ukraine.
