The spirit and passion of cricket in India are of a different level. With this spirit, a female fan reached Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium with her daughter and family to watch the Test match between India and Australia. India won the match but the fans who came to watch the match were troubled by the facilities of the stadium.
A fan named Shilpa Phadke complained about the inconvenience to BCCI and BCCI Secretary Jai Shah on social media. He said that watching cricket in Delhi, and Mumbai is no less than a nightmare for a female fan. First of all, toilets are not available here and where they are available, there is no light or water. In such a situation, what to do if women fan?
BCCI is the richest board in the world
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the richest cricket board in the world. Which operates cricket in more than 50 international stadiums across the country. The cricket industry here is also worth about 82 thousand crore rupees ($ 10 billion). In such a situation, this complaint of a female fan raises many questions on-ground management.
Senior sports journalist Vijay Lokpali also supported the complaint of the female fan. Vijay said on social media, he hopes that BCCI will pay attention to this complaint and the condition of the stadium will improve soon.
No light, and no water in Mumbai
Shilpa wrote in her tweet, 'The women's toilets of the stadium in Mumbai were mostly closed. One was found open, which did not even have light, water, a dustbin, and toilet paper. Amidst the filth and chaos, I was forced to tell my 8-year-old daughter that the water at the stadium is not potable. We will be able to drink clean water only after going out of the stadium.
'Now don't ask to sit at home'
Shilpa said, 'The washrooms of Delhi Stadium were found open, where even water was not coming. Neither dustbin nor toilet paper was found. There was no drinking water amidst the stinking floors. It is the responsibility of the management to provide clean and safe washrooms. And yes, in the midst of all this, do not ask anyone to sit at home and watch the match on TV. Nothing can be more shameful than showing matches to female fans in these conditions.
Take care of fans along with women players
Shilpa wrote, 'If BCCI is trying to promote women's cricket by organizing Women's IPL. So they should also focus on promoting women fans. At least basic facilities should be provided for the fans who are coming to watch the match by paying thousands of rupees.
Will the situation be like this in the World Cup as well?
Shilpa wrote, 'The men's ODI World Cup is also to be held in India this year. Shouldn't BCCI change its mindset and focus on making better toilets before this big tournament? I hope that BCCI will soon appoint a management agency after paying attention to my suggestions and that the condition of the stadium will improve.
Next test in the cleanest city
2 Test matches between India and Australia are over. India is ahead 2-0 in the series. The third Test match will be played at the Holkar Stadium in Indore, the cleanest city in India. The city is number-1 in cleanliness, but it will be important to see what kind of facilities the fans get in the Test match starting from March 1.
