During the rising heat, cases of water crisis have also started coming up in the capital of the country. Meanwhile, the ammonia level in the Yamuna river in Delhi has once again increased, causing water scarcity in many areas of the capital. Delhi Board itself has given this information. According to a representative, the amount of ammonia in the Yamuna has increased once again. If this situation continues, then Delhiites will have to face a water crisis during increasing heat. According to the information given by the Delhi Jal Board, the amount of ammonia in the water of Yamuna has increased since Thursday. The problem was resolved on Friday morning, but again in the evening, its level has increased to four ppm (parts per million). Due to this water supply from Wazirabad, Chandrawal, and Okhla water treatment plants is affected. The total supply of water has been reduced by about 25 percent.
According to the information received, the increase in the level of ammonia in the Yamuna river has also affected the three major water treatment plants of Delhi, Wazirabad, Chandrawal, and Okhla. Due to this production has decreased. In such a situation, it is believed that due to this the supply of water in different areas of the capital Delhi is sure to be affected.
This information has been given by the Delhi Jal Board itself. According to official sources, the ammonia level in the river is rising due to the inflow of pollutants from Haryana into the Yamuna. Due to this excess production has come down in Wazirabad, Chandrawal, and Okhla water treatment plants.
It is worth noting that in Chandrawal, Wazirabad, and Okhla, 90 million gallons, 135 MGD, and 20 MGD of water are treated daily respectively. At the same time, the Delhi Jal Board can clean 0.9 ppm.
