The two-day first All India State Ministers Annual Conference on the theme 'Water Vision 2047' has been organized from January 5 in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the conference through video conferencing. He said that today India is doing unprecedented work in water security and is also making unprecedented investments. States' efforts for water conservation will go a long way in achieving the nation's collective goals. PM Modi said that maximum work should be done on the water under MNREGA.

The idea of public participation has to be awakened in the minds of the people: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the idea of public participation in water conservation has to be awakened in the minds of the people. The more efforts we make in this direction, the more impact will be created. The country is making 75 Amrit Sarovar in every district and so far 25,000 Amrit Sarovar have been built. PM Modi said that Water vision 2047 is an important dimension of Amrit Yatra for the next 25 years.

Geo mapping and geo sensing play an important role in water conservation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that technologies like geo-mapping and geo-sensing are playing an important role in the work of water conservation. Many states have done a good job in this and many states are moving in this direction. For water conservation, the Center has started the Atal Ground Water Conservation Scheme.

There has been a lot of emphasis on the circular economy in this budget: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the government has laid a lot of emphasis on the circular economy in this budget. The circular economy also has a big role in the field of water conservation. When treated water is reused, fresh water is conserved, and the entire ecosystem is greatly benefited.

Because of the pace of urbanization, water conservation has to be thought of seriously

PM Modi said that urbanization is increasing rapidly in our country and when the pace of urbanization is like this, then we should think seriously about water. Industry and agriculture are two such sectors, in which the requirement for water is high. Both these sectors should run water conservation campaigns together and people should be made aware.

Benefits gained from 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'

When people joined the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan', consciousness and awareness also came to the public. The government mobilized resources and did many works like water treatment plants and toilets. But the success of the campaign was ensured when the public thought not to spread filth. The same thinking has to be awakened in the public for water conservation.
