West Bengal Election: In Howrah, 5000 policemen will take command along with 103 companies of central forces

Kolkata: Political mercury is on the verge of assembly elections in West Bengal. Now the fourth phase of voting in Bengal is to be held on Saturday. There are also nine constituencies of Howrah in this phase. Out of 9 seats in this district, there are seven assembly centers in the Howrah Police Commissioner area and two centers between rural police areas. Polling will be held at the former centers of Howrah Commissionerate in Bali, North Howrah, Madhya Howrah, South Howrah, Shivpur, Domjur, Sankrail, and rural Howrah. The district administration is also enthusiastic about voting.

 

 

In this sequence, EVM machines were taken to different booths from different main centers on Friday. According to the Howrah City Police source, the security system of each booth in the urban area has been strengthened. The total number of booths in the city area is 2435. In which 1400 booths are sensitive. The booth will have central forces as well as state police. Only 103 companies of central forces will be deployed in urban areas, while 37 companies will be deployed in rural areas. All these will be accompanied by 5000 state police personnel.

 

 

Deployment of drones

 

 

At the same time, 1500 police will be deployed for rural areas. Howrah city will have 99 quick response teams, 16 radio flying squads, and 40 mobile vans. There will be 35 quick response teams and 15 response teams for the rural area. To monitor the situation insensitive booths, 3 drones have been deployed in the city and one drone in rural.

 

 

At the same time, the police administration has identified some areas where there is a possibility of disturbances. In such a situation, strictness will be increased in those areas. Explain that the number of booths in 9 centers of the district will be 3124, number of candidates 93, voter number 2262017, polling staff 14996, and reservist officer 670.
