According to a report by The Guardian, a survey has been done regarding the rising inflation in the UK. In which it has come to the fore that one-third of single parents have to sleep hungry due to inflation.
In the survey, three out of every ten families said that due to the increase in the cost of food, they are skipping one meal a day. In fact, since the Ukraine war, energy supply has been interrupted in many countries of Europe. Which has a huge impact on the economy there.
Eating children's lies to fill their stomachs
In an interview given to the UK's Daily Newspaper, a woman named Lisa Clarke tells that she herself is starving because of the rising food prices. She waits for the kids to come home from school. So that he can satisfy his hunger by eating the left over food of the children. According to the research of the Food Foundation, till the month of September, 40 lakh children were forced to live without proper food.
Lakhs of people forced to go to food bank
It is becoming so difficult for people in Britain to manage food items that people have to turn to food banks. So far 320,000 people have gone to the Food Bank for food. Trussal Trust found in one of its research that from April to September this year, food emergency food parcels were distributed among 13 lakh people. After which last week the trust decided to distribute more food parcels.
Food prices rise sharply in UK
According to the latest inflation report of the British Retail Consortium, annual food inflation increased by 10.06 percent in the month of September. On the other hand, if we talk about the daily used food, then their prices also saw a sharp jump. Inflation in fresh food i.e. ready-to-use food increased by 12.1% in the month of September alone.
