What will happen in September IPL Phase-2: BCCI taking help of ECB to complete the tournament; India-England Test series can be ended soon

The efforts of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are going on continuously for the remaining 31 matches of the IPL. The board is looking for a 20-day window for this. According to the Times of India report, this tournament can now be held only in England in August-September. The BCCI is in talks with the England Cricket Board (ECB) for this. The schedule of the 5-Test series between India and England for the IPL can also be changed.

For this, the series between India and England can be completed in August itself. Completing the IPL is the top priority for BCCI. The Board is currently considering England as the best option. According to the report, not only BCCI, but Star Sports is also in favor of getting the rest of the tournament match in the UK. The 5 matches of the Test series between India and England will be played between 4 August and 14 September.

County will benefit from IPL

According to the report, the ECB is only willing to make changes to the schedule on the condition that the host of the IPL is made them. This will also earn a good amount for their counties. If the BCCI convinces the English board to get the match done in advance, they will get a bigger window for the IPL. Also, players of all countries will be able to be present. Earlier there was talk of getting it done in September. In such a situation, the T20 World Cup can be held in the third week of October.

Why does BCCI want to do the rest of the match in England itself?

1. Quarantine Rules: The Indian team will remain in England for the next few months. Many important players will accompany the team on the tour. There they must have followed the strict Quarantine rule. Whereas, the players will have to follow the quarantine rules again when they are held in another country. Not only this, but players from other countries will also be able to come to the UK easily. Countries like Australia, New Zealand, and the West Indies are not on the UK Red List. This means they will have to spend only a 3-day quarantine period. Also in the UK, Corona cases are currently under control.

2. English Counties\' Interest: After the IPL was suspended, 4 English counties had shown interest in hosting the remaining matches, Surrey, Warwickshire, and Lancashire had proposed IPL.

3. English players will also be available: India-England Test series to be held by 14 September. After this, players from England will leave for Pakistan in the first week of October. If the BCCI-ECB completes 5 Tests in July-August, then English players can also play the league in September. Along with BCCI, the sponsors will also benefit from having top players like Jose Butler and Ben Stokes.

4. Preparation in advance: The Hundred Tournament is to be held in England from 21 July to 21 August. Many of the world\'s big hitters will take part in this tournament. Due to having 8 teams, England will also prepare 8 bio-bubbles for this. With this, the BCCI will not have trouble in preparing the bubble for the IPL teams. Also, the board will be able to prepare a pre-plan according to The Hundred.

Why does England want to host the tournament?

1. Revenue: IPL is the largest cricket league in the world. Revenue from this is much more than other sports. BCCI loots money for this and it also earns them crores. Last season, UAE had earned a profit of around Rs 100 crore. When the board of many countries is suffering because of Corona. In such a situation, they can earn profits by hosting IPL.

2. Benefits to tourism: One problem that can stand before the BCCI is that the UK is more expensive than the rest of the country. But the board is looking at it from another perspective. In England, spectators are also allowed to visit the stadium due to fewer cases of the corona. Audiences will also be permitted to attend the WTC Finals and The Hundred.

BCCI, IPL franchises, and players will also benefit from spectators coming into the league. IPL is popular not only in India but in the whole world. This will benefit the government of the tourism there as well and generate a lot of revenue.

What other options does BCCI have?

Apart from England, India may also have options in UAE, Australia, and Sri Lanka. The UAE\'s claim is the strongest after England, as there has been a tournament in the past. Having an IPL in Australia is difficult. After the England tour, it is almost impossible for Team India to go to Australia to play IPL and then come back to India or UAE and join the T20 World Cup in October-November. Corona cases have also increased in Sri Lanka in the last few days.

Why only in August, why not in July or November-December?

England will play 3 T20 and 3 ODIs against Sri Lanka from 18 June to 4 July.

After this, the Pakistan team will also go on a tour of England. 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches will be played between these two countries.

In July, Australia is scheduled to tour the West Indies and South Africa to Ireland.

There is only one international tournament to be held from the last week of August to the whole of September. It is a series between India and England.

The BCCI may get time if the India-England series shifts.

Due to the T20 World Cup in October and November, IPL will not be possible.

Afghanistan and England will also be touring Australia in November-December. During this time, England has to play the Ashes series in Australia.

BCCI also has to undergo a mega auction for the next IPL season. In such a situation, it will not be possible to conduct the tournament in December or next year.

When will the decision be taken?

The BCCI has called a Special General Meeting on 29 May. In this meeting, they will discuss the upcoming cricket season. However, its main agenda will be India\'s preparations for the T20 World Cup. But it is believed that the board will also discuss IPL phase-2 in this meeting. At the same time, the International Cricket Council (ICC) can also hold a meeting to host the T20 World Cup on 1 June.

2500 crore will be on the cancellation of the tournament. the loss of

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly also said in an interview with the Telegraph that he is not hurrying about the tournament at the moment. It will be decided gradually. He said that if the IPL could not be held this year, the BCCI would suffer a loss of up to Rs 2500 crore.
