Will the children of CBSE board examinations be affected further?

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has announced to extend the dates of board exams for class X and XII on Thursday.

Union Minister Pokhriyal has said that the CBSE board exams for class X and XII will be held from May 4 to June 10. With this, the results of these examinations will come by July 15. With this, the tenth and twelfth practicals will start from March 1.

After this decision, the students of the CBSE board will have to spend 14 months in the same class instead of 12 months.

Normally, students of class X and XII used to get holidays of about two months after giving examination in March-April. During this time, he used to get himself out of stress and prepare for further studies.

In such a situation, some students are seen standing in support of this decision. At the same time, some students are expressing their problems through Twitter or Facebook.

What do students say about Pokhriyal's decision?

Bhumi, who is preparing to take the Class X examination in a school in South Delhi, calls it a good decision.

She says, "This year, our session could not even begin on time. Online education is not as easy as it sounds. From juggling the numbers of all the children, it was not easy to bring them to class on the team or zoom.

Sometimes we used to go to the Internet of children and sometimes the internet of teachers used to go. Things were not well understood. Now hope that the corona cases are reduced a little, if we get a chance to go to school, we will be able to understand Slabs once before the exam. ”

However, Bhumi says that some of his friends are also uncomfortable about this decision.

She says, “Some of my friends studied with a lot of stress. They were waiting for the exams to be held in March. Because of this, he and all of us would get summer vacation. We would have done some preparation for the 11th. But now after this decision, one has to keep studying continuously. Because it seems that the 11th session will start only after the result. "

Stressful decision

At the same time, Sharon, who is preparing to take the twelfth examination, believes that it is a good but stress-making decision.

He says, "For me, this decision is both good and bad. It is good because now we will get more time to study. But the bad thing is that now we have to wait till May to take the exams. It will cause a lot of stress. "

Sharon also believes that this decision can also affect the studies after the 12th.

He says, "Anything after 12th will have to wait for its result. Cut off will come. And we will be under pressure to make plans. "

Like Sharon, many other children are seen to be jeopardizing their careers as the session progresses.

Ramith Surya has told Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal on Twitter, "Sir, please also carry forward NEET 2021".

Twitter user Anchit Sinha says, “The JEE exam is also in the last week of May. It is very confusing… ”

Another Twitter user Naman Mathur says, "Sir, what will happen to the JEE exam if the board exams are from May to June. We should get enough time to prepare for both the exams. "

During the year 2020, due to the Corona epidemic, it was not easy for millions of children to come to the online education system in a big country like India.

The BBC has on many occasions previously given a platform for teachers and children going through online education. And it has been told by children and their teachers that online education sometimes becomes the cause of heavy stress.

In such a situation, the question arises that how much stress will be for children and teachers to pursue the examinations.

Round of uncertainties

Clinical psychologist Dr. Poojashivam Jaitley believes that any work that has a kind of uncertainty leads to stress or anxiety.

She says, "There are conclusive examinations for children tenth and twelfth. In such a situation, there is a lot of pressure on children. Because the uncertainties were so high last year, we did not know whether there would be board exams or not.

Now the dates of these exams have gone ahead, due to this the uncertainties are increasing for the children. Due to this, stress and anxiety, etc. will arise in children. Because the end of all this is not visible.

Particularly more difficult for children of class XII because they have separate time for competitive examinations and separate time for board examinations. In such a situation, handling these things together will become a separate problem for them. At the same time, if the increasing cases of corona are kept in mind, then it will be in the minds of some children that the cases are increasing again, whether there will be examinations or not. In such a situation, the environment of uncertainty is making the children worried and tense. ”

But the way Pooja Shivam is pointing, it tells that the children are worried about what will happen to the general education cycle now.

There are all kinds of concerns and confusion among them about whether the admission process in all the universities will be taken forward.

But educationist Anita Rampal, former dean of the Faculty of Education of Delhi University, admits that there is no other option.

She says, "Currently, we have no other option but to take it forward. Everything remained closed during the lockdown last year. And to say slabs and complete education with online education is quite meaningless.

There were two options in this - the first option was to make it zero year. Under this, 2020 would be considered as zero. Under this, children are told that their one year was wasted. And now start the same studies again. This was not the right choice because it made the children very desperate.

In such a situation, the option was to complete the year by moving a little further and reducing the slabs. But the government should do it in such a way that every student feels that he has done something. "

Anita Rampal also believes that the government should make special arrangements for this batch so that there is no problem in their future.

She says, "Apart from advancing the examinations, other things also have to be managed. For example, when will the next session start after the examination. How and when these students will get admission in further studies etc. It will all sit with this decision and in harmony with it. "
