The Indian team defeated New Zealand by four wickets with 12 balls remaining in the 20th match of the World Cup 2023 on Sunday. This was the fifth consecutive win in the tournament for the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team and it has become number 1 in the points table of the World Cup 2023.

In the match played in Dharamshala, New Zealand batted first and the entire team was all out after scoring 273 runs in 50 overs. In reply, India achieved the target by losing 6 wickets in 48 overs. This victory was very special for the Indian team as it defeated New Zealand, ending a 20-year drought in ICC events. Let us tell you who were the 5 heroes of India's victory.

1) Mohammed Shami - The Indian team's fast bowler Mohammed Shami played his first match in the World Cup 2023 and performed brilliantly. The right-arm fast bowler took five wickets for 54 runs in 10 overs. Due to Shami's lethal bowling, New Zealand's lower order could not stay at the crease and could not touch the 300-run mark. Shami was adjudged Player of the Match for his excellent performance.

2) Virat Kohli - The Indian team's run machine Virat Kohli was once again seen playing the role of a troubleshooter. Virat Kohli scored 95 runs in 104 balls with the help of 8 fours and two sixes. When Kohli was out, India was just 5 runs away from victory. Kohli made important partnerships with Shreyas Iyer (33), KL Rahul (27) and Ravindra Jadeja.

3) Kuldeep Yadav - India's chinaman Kuldeep Yadav proved to be very expensive against New Zealand, but he took two important wickets, due to which he managed to make a place in this hero list. Kuldeep made New Zealand captain Tom Latham (5) and Glenn Phillips (23) his victims. The left-arm wrist spinner took two wickets for 73 runs in 10 overs.

4) Rohit Sharma - Indian team captain Rohit Sharma also managed to make his place in this list. The Indian opener scored 46 runs in 40 balls with the help of four fours and four sixes. Rohit Sharma gave a great start to India by making a 71-run partnership with Shubhman Gill (26).

5) Ravindra Jadeja - Ravindra Jadeja bowled hard and conceded 48 runs in 10 overs, but could not take any wicket. Then he performed brilliantly in batting and played a match-winning inning of 39 runs with the help of three fours and one six in 44 balls. Jadeja made an important partnership of 78 runs with Kohli for the sixth wicket.
