The Women's Commission had summoned Ranveer Allahabadia, Samay Raina, and Apoorva Makhija, along with other YouTubers, for making derogatory comments on YouTuber Samay Raina's show 'India's Got Latent'. But, none of them turned up. The Women's Commission has now released a new date. Apart from Ranveer, Samay, and Apoorva, the Women's Commission had summoned content creators and public figures including Jaspreet Singh, Ashish Chanchlani, Tushar Pujari, Saurabh Bothra, and Balraj Ghai.
To appear today on February 17
The Women's Commission had called all the accused to appear on February 17, 2025, by 12 noon. However, according to the officials of the Women's Commission, many people did not attend it in person, citing personal security, prior travel commitments, and some other reasons.
Security reasons cited
Ranveer Allahabadia requested three weeks' relief citing death threats, after which the commission rescheduled his hearing till March 6, 2025. Similarly, social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija also requested to appear virtually until the situation stabilizes, citing security concerns. The Women's Commission has also postponed Poorva's hearing till March 6.
These two accused did not even respond.
Samay Raina is currently in the US. He assured to appear on return to the country in the application sent to the NCW, due to which his hearing was scheduled for March 11, 2025. Jaspreet Singh has gone on a tour to Paris, he will return by March 10. His hearing has also been scheduled for March 11. Chanchlani, whose lawyer pleaded on his behalf, citing illness. Chanchlani has been summoned for a hearing on March 6. Tushar Pujari and Saurabh Bothra have not responded to the summons. The NCW condemned this and issued a summons again for March 6. Balraj Ghai is currently abroad. His bail plea has been scheduled for hearing on March 11.
