Delhi Stampede: Now Delhi Police will control the crowd like this, special arrangements made for devotees going to Kumbh

The administration has taken strict action after the incident that took place at New Delhi Railway Station on Saturday night. Delhi Police has deployed six inspector-rank officers at New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS) to enhance crowd management and ensure the safety of passengers.

 

Have handled the front in the past

 

Let us tell you that these officers, called from different districts, have been selected to handle operations at New Delhi Railway Station, one of the most crowded and busiest stations in the country. Because these officers have done similar work before. Many of these officers have previously worked as Station House Officers (SHO).

 

Strong arrangements made for Kumbh pilgrims

 

Due to the Kumbh Mela, the officials expect that the crowd of devotees will continue to increase in the coming days. Officers have been deployed to smoothen the movement of the crowd and prevent any untoward incident. These officers have been deployed especially given the last major bath of Kumbh on the day of Shivratri on February 26.

 

18 people including five children died

It is noteworthy that at least 18 people, including five children, died and more than a dozen people were injured in the stampede at the station on Saturday night. The accident happened due to the sudden rush of passengers to board the trains going to Prayagraj.

 

The accident happened on platform number 14 and 15

The incident took place on the foot-overbridge connecting platforms number 14 and 15, where some passengers slipped while alighting, causing panic and leading to this fatal accident. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has ordered an inquiry and constituted a two-member high-level committee to investigate the lapses.

 

Around 1.49 crore devotees took a dip in Sangam on Sunday.

It is worth noting that after the stampede at New Delhi Railway Station, emergency measures have also been implemented at other stations across the country. Meanwhile, devotees continue to come to take a holy bath at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said around 1.49 crore devotees took the holy bath at Sangam on Sunday.
